Is in actuality two very different areas, the Narrows and Gotham Heights.

The Narrows

The Narrows is named for the narrow streets, alleys and apartments. It’s one of the most dilapidated neighborhoods in Gotham. The apartments are too close together, the streets are rife with crime and good, hard-working individuals are often tarred with a bad reputation just for having a street in The Narrows on their address. Many business owners and mayors make cleaning up the Narrows one of their priorities, but it rarely happens and efforts are usually shortlived.

-Oliver Queen’s new nightclub, Verdant, is a small step toward tackling
unemployment in the Narrows and almost all the staff are locals.
- Most people walk with their heads down at night. Making eye contact with -
the wrong person can be ill-advised.
- A recent effort to make new, affordable housing in the area was abandoned when it was discovered that the area was polluted with toxic waste.

Gotham Heights

'Heights' is right because only those with their bank accounts in high figures can afford a home here. One of the city's ritzier neighborhoods, it lies strangely near to The Narrows and Crime Alley. People from adjacent neighborhoods rarely cross one anothers paths, though. In fewer places is the class divide more clear than at the edge of the Gotham Heights District.

- Someone in a fancy apartment block is usually throwing a lavish party or
charity event.
- Nothing will earn you a dirtier look than dropping a cigarette butt or chewing gum on the pavement.
